Mosquito foggers are devices which spread mosquito repellents or insecticides in the form of fog. It is one of the most popular methods for getting rid of mosquitoes and other insects, such as flies, biting flies, gnats and fleas. The chemical that is used in these devices are either turned into a smoke or spread as small droplets of the liquid.

On the other hand, a thermal fogger uses a thermal coil that produces a light mist or smoke of the insecticides. The natural outcome of such an instrument is that the insecticides can be used in areas which can’t be reached easily. The thermal fogger finds its use in mosquito protection in areas such as yards, patios and gazebos. The smoke produced by thermal foggers can be directed at grass, small trees, shrubs, cook-out areas and under picnic tables.

Thermal foggers are mainly of two types: The Burgess Electric Fogger is useful for smaller areas close to an electrical connection while the Burgess Propane Fogger does not require an electrical connection and is completely portable. Usually, these foggers come with the insecticides that are best suited for them. As mentioned earlier, the chemicals for different foggers are different and it is wise to learn which insecticides are best suitable for your fogger.

The best insecticide for thermal foggers is Resmethrin Fogging Solution (Burgess Bug Killer Insect Fog) which contains 0.2% Resmethrin and is labeled for use with thermal foggers. Another option, the Ready to Use .5% Fog, a material that contains 0.5% pyrethrins, is also commonly used with thermal foggers.

For cold foggers, the best chemicals that can be used, include Resmethrin Fogging Solution and Ready to Use .5% Fog, especially for outdoor usage. Another option is the Exciter, which contains a very high concentration of pyrethrins and is best suited for larger needs.

The use of mosquito foggers, not only saves us from various mosquito diseases, it also provides an easy way to get rid of annoying mosquitoes, flies and other insects.
